Palm Bay is the most recent of Brevard County’s cities to consider a fertilizer ordinance and tonight the council will discuss how strict such restrictions — if any are implemented — should be.

The state wants to cut down the amount of nutrients — such as those found in fertilizer — flowing into the Indian River Lagoon. Brevard County and several local cities have adopted ordinances aimed at slowing the amount of fertilizer making its way into theestuary.
